Call for TOD Panelists

TOD Marketplace is an entrepreneurial project at the local and regional levels that will look at building community consensus for action and change regarding transit-oriented development (TOD) in Orange County, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. By conducting the TOD Marketplace in Orange County and the Inland Empire, ULI Orange County/Inland Empire will be at the forefront of assisting cities in looking at ways to reduce greenhouse gases through development that reduces Vehicle Miles Traveled. As part of the TOD Marketplace project, the District Council will be conducting three Technical Assistance Panels (TAPs), three walking tours of selected Metrolink sites and culminating the project with a Forum at which the findings and recommendations of building TOD in the region will be presented. Do you have a strong background in any of the following areas? Historic Preservation/historic districts, walkable communities/placemaking/human scale development, redevelopment, adaptive reuse, retail development, branding, land acquisition, strong understanding of VMT (AB32, SB375), or public financing. If so, please contact phyllis.alzamora@uli.org

Help Us Find Your Peers

As everyone knows, things have been changing a lot throughout the past months. At ULI Orange County, we have compiled a list of people’s email addresses that have came back to us marked “Return to Sender,” because the contact email address we have is for a company they have since left. This is where you can help ULI Orange County by viewing the list of inactive email addresses and let us know how we can get back in touch with these professionals. Keeping the lines of communication open is very important at ULI, so we greatly appreciate everyone’s assistance in providing us with updated contact information. To view the list, click here. Please email us at orangecounty@uli.org. Thank you.

Great Feedback for ULI Events

Peter P. Vahid, VA Consulting Inc., was impressed by the outcome of ULI's Mega-Priorities Issues Roundtable held in Corona on January 15, 2009. All attendees received notes transcribed from discussions on Housing, Transportation and Sustainability. "I was looking forward to reading the notes from the meeting. It will help me in understanding, analyzing and advocating for sustainable and smart development of the Inland Empire. All of ULI did a great job once again in putting this event on and recording the great discussions and exchange of ideas that went on," Vahid said.

The members of ULI are community builders. They represent a range of professions from academicians to designers and economic development officials to property managers.

In an effort to create a forum where professionals under 35 years old could network with their colleagues or meet seasoned professionals in the industry, in 2003, the Young Leaders Group was formed. Today, 30% of the membership is involved in the Young Leaders Group.
